Nicholas the Dancing King

We follow a boy named Nicholas through a typical week and learn everything that you need to do to be a good child, sibling, grandchild, friend, student, and neighbour. Every day he does something kind or helpful for someone. On Monday, he helps his parents, on Tuesday, he shares with his sister, and so on up to Saturday when he picks up litter in his neighbourhood. At the end of every day, Nicholas goes through his bedtime routine of washing up and brushing his teeth, and then he dances with joy before he goes to sleep. On Sunday, Nicholas dances all day in celebration of being a kind, helpful, and respectful person.

Lauren is the proud mother of two and grandmother of three who lives in Kingston, Ontario. She grew up in Winnipeg. She spent her life as an educator, and knew the importance of reading to children. This story developed over many years knowing that you have to do whatever you need to do to be the best you can be!! Carlee is Nicholas' sister and lives in Calgary, Alberta. She grew up in Kingston, Ontario. Her illustrations are inspired by their shared childhood from toys, books, clothing and their home. She does whatever she needs to do to create art, collect stories, and further her career in architecture.
