Prema (प्रेमा) is the Sanskrit word for love. Written over fifteen years, Prema is a memoir told through a series of letters that reflect on love, loss, and personal growth — this author's story is shaped by her lived experience, but one many of us will recognise. Sometimes taking a spiritual and philosophical approach to her healing journey, she explores how her relationships — with family, friends, and herself — shape her understanding of who we are and how we move through the world. Each letter focuses on a different relationship, tracing her evolution, as she examines painful experiences with honesty and a commitment to forgiveness, without leaning into bitterness. Prema invites readers to reflect on their own experiences of love and to consider how awareness, compassion, and self-understanding can guide the way as we navigate life.
This author writes from lived experience. Prema grew out of a need to understand love, healing, and how to move through life with greater consciousness and care. Shaped by her upbringing and the relationships that have formed her, she shares this work in the hope of paying forward the love, support, and understanding she has received. Prema is offered as an invitation for readers to reflect on their own lives and to find space for love, healing, and connection in ways that feel true to them.
