Uh-Oh Dino!
by
Sabeela Gokal
Beela is a cheerful dinosaur who sets out to paint a special gift for her family, and everything seems to be going perfectly—until it’s not! One slip, one splash, and uh-oh! Her masterpiece tumbles into a colourful mess. With a little imagination and a lot of heart, Beela soon discovers that mistakes aren’t the end of the story. In fact, they can be the beginning of something even more beautiful. Filled with playful rhymes, vibrant illustrations, and a heartwarming message, Uh-Oh Dino! celebrates the beauty of resilience, creativity and the magic of perseverance. Young readers will giggle, cheer, and discover that even messy moments can become something magical.
"A creative, passionate reminder that every ‘Uh Oh!’ moment will always turn into an ‘It’s Okay!’ moment." Lina Scaccia, Author of It’s Okay! "Uh-Oh Dino! is a delightful tool for educators to spark meaningful conversations about resilience, and the value of learning through mistakes. It is a charming reminder for educators, parents and children that creativity thrives in imperfection and that every 'uh-oh' moment is a chance to grow, laugh and learn together.” Rosemary Stiglic, VP of Operations PLASP, BA, MA, OCT
Sabeela Gokal is a registered Early Childhood Educator and child care director based in Mississauga, Ontario. In her leadership role as a relief resource director of PLASP Child Care Services, Sabeela remains closely connected to early learning practices, professional development, and child-centred education, all of which strongly influence her writing. With years of experience supporting children of all ages and extensive training in special needs education, she has seen firsthand how encouraging self-expression and teaching problem-solving skills helps children to build confidence and resilience. She believes that every child’s imagination holds the power to teach, heal, and inspire. Uh-Oh Dino! is Sabeela’s debut picture book, inspired by the joyful (and often messy) moments she’s witnessed in the classroom and in life. She hopes Beela’s story will encourage children everywhere to see mistakes not as setbacks but as colourful opportunities to laugh and grow. When she’s not writing or working with children, Sabeela enjoys painting, reading, spending time in nature, wildlife conservation and exploring creative projects with her loved ones.
