After All...
Cherished Memories
by
Linda Louise
After All…traces the first 40 years of a small-town Ohio girl’s life. Coming from a family of 10 children, at 18 she leaves behind the certainty of the 1950’s and steps boldly into a bigger world. Through education, hard knocks, and an unrelenting quest for self-discovery, she travels across America and beyond, experiencing distant places that reshape her understanding of love, courage and connection. One of the baby boom generation, Linda breaks the mold and dares to live life on her own terms. Along the way she encounters unforgettable characters, unexpected angels and quiet wisdom born of experience. Her journey leads her to Hawaii where she finds purpose and lasting love.
Linda Louise was born in Sandusky, Ohio, and graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1975, where she was honored with a Phi Beta Kappa key. She later earned her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage in 1985. A lifelong educator and explorer at heart, her teaching career took her from Alaska to Japan to Hawaii, where she taught English at the University of Hawaii at Hilo for 23 years until retirement in 2014. She lives in Hilo, Hawaii, with her husband, Jay and dog, Tula. In addition to this Memoir, her poetry has appeared in Kanilehua, a literary magazine. She writes with a deep appreciation for place, people and the unexpected turns that shape a life.
