Amelia's Tonsils
by Liz Ling

Amelia’s not feeling her best—she has tonsillitis! Follow brave Amelia as she navigates the ups and downs of having her tonsils removed. From feeling sick and visiting the doctor, to lab tests, pre-surgery preparations, and the big day in the operating room, Amelia experiences all the emotions children feel: worry, fear, and, most importantly, courage. Written by an anesthesiologist, Amelia’s Tonsils uses gentle rhyme, playful illustrations, and a comforting narrative to guide children through every step of the surgical journey. Parents and caregivers will appreciate the helpful medical glossary at the back, explaining key terms in kid-friendly language. A charming and educational story, Amelia’s Tonsils helps young readers feel brave and prepared, showing that hospitals, doctors, and surgery are often less scary than they seem.
