Family Enterprise 2307

Peter Vaughan
It’s the year 2307. For 250 years, the Great Division has held firm—an impenetrable wall made of frozen light that separates two radically different worlds. In the Kingdom, loved-based emotion is seen as weak and disgusting. Its citizens, transformed by a brain-altering process called PowerTurn, wield sharpened intellect and unbridled ambition, stripped of emotional attachment and unchecked by discipline. On the other side is the PLD, where the Full-Merge process has fused heart and mind into a powerful harmony of love, logic, and self-mastery. But for some mysterious reason, the Great Division is weakening. Each side suspects sabotage by the other. As paranoia mounts and the balance of power teeters, both societies must figure out a way to evolve together or perish in a mutually destructive bid for control. As these diametrically opposed rivals race against collapse, can they find a way to unite before the wall—and their entire world—comes crashing down?
"A plethora of characters . . . and sequel-inviting twists at the end make for an occasionally challenging—but provocative—narrative. Compelling, cerebral SF." —Kirkus Reviews "The story is immersive and intriguing — I’m still thinking about the ideas long after putting the book down." —Peter J Mogan, LLB, Institute of Corporate Directors, Director
