A Practical Guide to Well-Being
by
Tracey Quinn
The key to transforming student success lies not only in textbooks, but also in nurturing the mind, body, heart, and spirit. A Practical Guide to Well-Being offers educators a hands-on, empowering resource for doing just that, drawing on the timeless wisdom of the Mi’kmaw medicine wheel. With more than 20 years of experience, author Tracey Quinn has seen firsthand the growing mental health and emotional challenges that students face . . . and the lack of resources available to help teachers support their students’ well-being. This guide breaks new ground by blending an Indigenous framework with modern well-being practices, delivering 40 lessons designed to help individuals make authentic strides in developing self-awareness and resilience. Divided into four sections—The Mind, The Body, The Heart, and The Spirit—each lesson invites educators to lead their students through meaningful activities that build emotional intelligence, physical health, and spiritual connection. But it’s more than just a manual; it’s a call to empower every student to become their best self. Teachers, counsellors, social workers and agencies who work with children and youth who are looking for an inclusive, easy-to-use resource that bridges culture and emotional wellness will find this manual indispensable. Readers who purchase this book will also gain exclusive access to a companion course designed by the author to deepen this manual’s impact. Pick up A Practical Guide to Well-Being and discover how you can spark lasting change, not just in your classroom, but in the hearts and lives of your students. Are you ready to take the lead?
