Canadian writer, Karen I. Smith, is a retired teacher, and former tourist resort operator. She is credited with many humorous articles for The South Marysburgh Mirror in Ontario. A fan of nature, she cycled the Trans Canada Trail from Edmonton, AB almost to Winnipeg, MB for her 65th birthday. Writings of her adventure can be viewed at cyclekis@blogspot.com. She lives in the heart of the vineyards and beaches of beautiful Prince Edward County. This is her second children’s book after Tom E. Toad — Looking for a Safe Place. The story of Benny the Bumpkin is inspired by a real dog of the same name.
